My name is Demeter Antónia and I'm a clinical psychologist and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist accredited by the Romanian College of Psychologists. I trained in cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy, carried out within the Association of Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapies. The field of psychology and being a therapist has attracted me since high school, and I believe that our mental health is the most important thing in our lives. It's the filter through which we live each experience, it's what allows us to be happy and joyful, to have quality relationships, to grow. I believe that each of us can come to live a meaningful life and that therapy can be a very useful tool in helping us through difficulties, learning about ourselves and how we can get to where we want to be. I like to combine elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with schema-focused therapy and dialectical-behavioural therapy. I chose to train in CBT because this form of therapy is so far the most supported by research. At the same time, I believe that focusing on personal values, focusing on the present moment, finding how we want to behave and live, finding methods that help us personally to stay with our emotions and thoughts can be helpful for each of us and are important elements in the therapeutic process.
